Click Here it will open an email message to us,
for you to add your comments or questions as you go along.
(TIP: you can
use the Alt+Tab keys to go back and forth between your email
message comments and your web browser - i.e. while holding
down the Alt key, press the Tab key (and repeat the pressing
of the Tab key if needed). Or you can switch back and
forth by clicking on the programs shown running on the Task

http://www.pecchamber.com/ is
the home page for the Prince Edward County Chamber of Tourism & Commerce.
The screen capture below shows most of the home page. The
button will take you to the
Webervations Availability and Reservation System.
- Bullet points like this, that follow each image, will be used to
make comments or to suggest possible
improvements to this example, for the
www.perthchamber.com web site.
Please scroll or page down to see what the next Step is in the
Accommodations Availability and Reservation process...
Step 1.
Select the Accommodations Availability button. |
...the Visitor would select or click on
button shown in the image below.

- While the
button is
there we could make it more prominent and therefore more obvious as a
feature on the
www.PerthChamber.com web site.
- At the bottom of the page pictured below, there is a "check
here for more details" link directly above the
button. This link takes you to the "Bed and
Breakfast & Guesthomes" category within the accommodations
section of their Business Directory. This is
great if the visitor is looking for that particular type of
accommodation, but not so great if they are looking for a cottage, or
campground, or motel, or hotel, or any of the other types of
accommodation that are offered. This particular link could be
eliminated to make it more user friendly.
Step 2.
Select your Arrival Date & select "Show Me Availability" |

- There is an option to add the "Length of Stay", just beside the
date, which we feel would create a better set of relevant results for
Visitors looking for Accommodation Availability.
- We would also like to allow a selector like the following to allow
Visitors to choose or eliminate certain "Types of Accommodation".

- The above also shows an "Amenities" selection area.
- The danger of the Amenities is that, checking too many will
lead to no results, so we should indicate this warning in our
implementation to help prevent frustration or disappointment.
Step 3.
Browse the Accommodation Properties with availability |

- The results above, shows all Accommodation types, whether they
have a room for the arrival date or not (see the last property in the
results above). (The type of room available is not shown until you
decide on the property).
- We would like the results to include only properties that have
the days available as entered by the Visitor
- We may eliminate the photos in the results for
speed of results presentation.
- Options for consideration:
- If photos are to be used:
- Optimize the photos for download speed.
- + Use Thumbnail photos that present an enlarged photo
when selected
- Or use a link entitled Photo that will present
an enlarged
photo when selected.
Step 4. (we have decided on the property to
try)
Select the
button for Wellington on the
Bay, to find which room types they have available for our
dates. |

- The property title should be underlined to indicate it is
hotlinked.
- If you select the property title in this example you
will be taken to the property web site or to their B&B listing
etc.
- We think it should take you to the same place as the
button.
Step 5.
Check which room types are available for our dates...the
dates are "remembered" from earlier steps. |

- More comments could be added above to make it clear that
this step is for checking which Rooms or Room Types are
available for the dates desired.
Step 6.
Select a Room to be Reserved. |

- Note the statement above
so it covers situations where someone may have shown up at the front
desk in person and they are reserving the same room at the same time as
the online request. Or it happened a little earlier but there has
not been time for the property owner to log on and update the
availability inventory.
Step 7.
Select the room for your Reservation Request. |

Step 8.
Complete the Reservation Request Form with Credit Card
details to confirm identity and to confirm the ability to
pay. |

- We will look into making the Email Address Mandatory as
well as having some checks to try and ensure it is a valid email
address. We will also review other key fields as part of
your implementation process.
- Some Webervations customers have very clear language around the
conditions for Cancellation and a Checkbox on the form below stating
that you have read and understood the terms & conditions.
- SAMPLE CANCELLATION POLICY:
- This SAMPLE covers a number of items including:
- Importance of an accurate email address
- Signed Rental Agreement required
- Cancellation Policy
- No Smoking
- No Pets
- Plus the "I have read...check box.

Step 9.
Accommodation Owner Confirms the Reservation +
Updates the Webervations Availability database. |
- Following the successful submission of the Reservation
Request the property owner will be responsible for doing the
following:
- Confirming the reservation request with the requestor
via email or telephone etc.
- Arranging for an alternate method of deposit payment if
online / offline credit cards are not accepted.
- Updating the Availability Calendar on Webervations
